Regular Brown Seaweed

Since fucoxanthin is difficult to find in pure form, people who take such a supplement do so as part of brown seaweed. One gram of seaweed has several times the amount of iodine than most adults require on a daily basis. Therefore, a potential side effect could include changes in thyroid function due to iodine excess
Adding FucoPure® to your daily routine is an easy way to increase the amount of Fucoxanthin in your daily diet...

FucoPure® Fucoxanthin Extract is a highly concentrated form of Fucoxanthin, derived from Wakame Seaweed. Fucoxanthin is thought to be a non-stimulant thermogenic, which means it has no effect on the sympathetic nervous system and can be taken without concerns of cardiovascular exhaustion or blood pressure deregulation. It is also said to initiate the breakdown of fats accumulated by the body's storing of unburned protein. Fucoxanthin extract has been reported to break apart the stored coupled proteins within the fat cell and effectively turn the stored fat back into protein to be used by the body as energy. Fucoxanthin has been shown to increase the expression of UCP1 in white adipose tissue (WAT). Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT), the good fat, is important for both basal and inducible energy expenditure in the form of thermogenesis mediated by the expression of the tissue-specific mitochondrial uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1).

First Patent

FucoPure® Fucoxanthin Extract received its first patent on its proprietary manufacturing process on February 22, 2011. This U.S. Patented process (patent # 7892580), generates a highly concentrated form of Fucoxanthin while reducing the amount of heavy metals and iodine without damaging or losing the dietary fibers, minerals, amino acids, vitamins, and most importantly the Fucoxanthin content. While Fucoxanthin naturally occurs in Wakame Seaweed with levels of 0.01% our extract has up to a 10.8% Fucoxanthin content. Most material found on the market is only a 5% - 10% fucoxanthin via UV, while FucoPure® is a 10% HPLC, which tests out to over 20% via UV.

Second Patent

FucoPure® received it's second patent on August 30, 2001 (patent # 8007838) for use as a dietary supplement. The supplement contains at least approximately 10% by weight of Fucoxanthin, less than approximately 1ppm iodine, less than approximately 1 ppm arsenic, and the Fucoxanthin contained in the supplement remains substantially stable for at least about 2 years.
